HealthierHere is investing $1 million in 21 community-based organizations across King County through the Collective Abundance Grant. The one-time, high-trust funding opportunity is designed to help organizations sustain their core work during a period of growing demand and shrinking resources.
Funded through HealthierHere's Social Equity and Wellness Fund, the grant provides awards of $25,000–$50,000 to organizations not currently funded by HealthierHere that serve low-income residents across the county. The funding period runs April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027.
“Funding cuts across the board are forcing organizations in King County to meet increasing demands with fewer resources,” said John Kim, CEO of HealthierHere. “Through it all, community-based organizations have continued to show up for the people they serve – our families, friends, and neighbors, and this investment reflects our commitment to standing with them and fostering abundance in our region.”
The Collective Abundance Grant is designed to be flexible, low-barrier, and rooted in trust. Awardees represent a broad range of sectors and geographies across King County. They include organizations serving Indigenous communities, immigrants and refugees, LGBTQ+ populations, people experiencing homelessness, individuals with disabilities, survivors of violence, and youth and families countywide.

What Awardees Are Saying
“As the executive director of a small organization, fundraising is a constant part of my job. Grants have been harder and harder to come by since COVID money ran out and the federal government cancelled contracts last year. Having opportunities like the Collective Abundance Grant, unrestricted dollars to fund our core mission support work, is exactly what small organizations like mine need! As we enter our busy season, I will breathe much easier knowing we have HealthierHere’s support.”
Emily Tomita, Executive Director, City Fruit
“Free tax help makes communities stronger. As more households juggle low-wage work, second jobs, and side gigs just to get by, they shouldn’t face the same hurdles at tax time. With a Collective Abundance Grant from HealthierHere, United Way of King County will expand services at our free tax sites, helping more people apply for ITINs and connect to financial resources in multilingual environments. When an immigrant family can apply for ITINs and file taxes in a single visit, or an unhoused neighbor can both get tax help and open a bank account to receive the thousands of dollars in tax credits they’re owed, everyone benefits.”
Regina Malveaux, Chief Impact Officer, United Way of King County
“Thank you to HealthierHere for investing in Seattle Roots Community Health and for your commitment to reducing health disparities across King County. Your support strengthens our roots in community-centered care and enables us to provide critical resources that reduce barriers and ensure our patients receive the respectful, whole-person care they deserve.”
Brandy Taylor, CEO, Seattle Roots Community Health
“We are honored to receive this support and grateful for this partnership in advancing health equity. This HealthierHere Collective Abundance Grant enables HealthPoint to sustain and strengthen our ability to deliver whole-person care, address social drivers of health, and advance equity for the diverse communities we serve across King County.”
Sherry Williams, Vice President of Community Engagement and External Relations, HealthPoint
“Receiving this award from HealthierHere is both meaningful and affirming for our organization. Unrestricted funding allows us to center the voices of families most impacted by inequity while strengthening the core programs that support stability, access, and self-determination. This investment helps ensure our work remains responsive, community-led, and grounded in long-term sustainability.”
Nicole Barker, Executive Director, Open Doors for Multicultural Families
“Southwest Youth & Family Services is deeply grateful to be selected as a HealthierHere Collective Abundance grantee! This funding will allow us to hire three new tutors for our New Futures after-school program, greatly relieving pressure on our staff and making sure our students in Burien and SeaTac have the help they need every day. As a nonprofit with a wraparound care model that includes family advocacy, behavioral health, and educational support across King County, this investment helps deepen how we can support our communities. We’re thankful to HealthierHere for this partnership, and for investing in our mission to support local youth and families to transform their futures.”
Essence Russ, Executive Director, Southwest Youth and Family Services
“Receiving the HealthierHere Collective Abundance Grant means so much to our organization and the families we serve at WMSL. It affirms the importance of our work supporting Black families as they navigate complex disability and healthcare systems. This funding will help us reach more families with culturally responsive support and ensure more children get the care and services they need to truly thrive.”
Hodan Mohamed, Executive Director, Washington Multicultural Services Link (WMSL)
The funding builds on HealthierHere's strategy to invest in the organizations providing essential services to support health and well-being across King County. Additional infrastructure investments are planned for later in 2026.
