Dr. Collins is a licensed clinical psychologist, Associate Professor, and co-director of the Harm Reduction Research and Treatment (HaRRT) Center at the University of Washington – Harborview Medical Center. In this webinar, Dr. Collins will help us understand harm reduction as it is implemented on the policy, population, community and individual levels, discuss its historical roots, and provide a rationale for harm reduction treatment as a policy and clinical practice.
Dr. Collins draws from over twenty years of experience in substance use research, assessment and treatment. She currently works with a multidisciplinary research and clinical team, community-based agencies, traditional Native healers, and substance-using community members to codevelop and evaluate interventions that aim to reduce substance-related harm and improve quality of life for people who use substances and their communities.
