HealthierHere, King County’s Accountable Community of Health (ACH), invites the public to join for the June 25, 2026 Seattle City Council Select Committee on Federal Administration and Policy Changes meeting at 2:00 pm PST. The Committee will hear from HealthierHere and other stakeholder groups on the impacts of new H.R. 1 (“One Big Beautiful Bill Act”) Medicaid eligibility requirements on Washington state residents that go into effect on January 1, 2027.
Updated requirements regarding employment and citizenship status will leave an estimated 22% of Washington Medicaid enrollees at risk of losing their coverage. An estimated 215,000 Medicaid enrollees across King County may face disenrollment, and over 70,000 will require dedicated case management support to meet the new criteria put in place.
HealthierHere will speak to the ACH’s role in planning for the “cliff” and serving the increased needs of the greater King County community leading up to and upon implementation of H.R. 1.
