Following an in-depth regional and national search process, HealthierHere is pleased to announce that John Kim, JD has been selected to serve as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) beginning in this role in June of 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome John as our visionary new leader for HealthierHere,” said Governing Board Co-Chair Jeff Sakuma. “His passion for advancing health equity backed by his outstanding leadership and business skills will guide our organization and network into an exciting new chapter of working together to build healthier, more equitable communities.”

Kim brings over 30 years of knowledge and experience building, scaling, and leading organizations and programs across the healthcare continuum including academic health, community and migrant health centers, hospitals, and non-profit organizations. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Pacific Hospital Preservation & Development Authority.

Kim’s experience developing and delivering innovative solutions was a strong match for HealthierHere. “I believe all people must have access to the resources they desire and need to be well and to thrive,” said John Kim. “HealthierHere has already made a sizable impact in ensuring our communities have that access, and I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to build on these successes. I look forward to learning from and working alongside HealthierHere’s staff, Governing Board, and partners across King County to increase our collective impact.” 

Kim will succeed Thuy Hua Ly, who will continue to serve as Interim CEO through the beginning of June and will work with Kim to ensure a smooth transition.
