Dear HealthierHere Partners and Community,

We are writing to inform you of the planned leadership transition of Susan McLaughlin, the founding Executive Director and current Chief Executive Officer of HealthierHere. Susan’s last day will be September 23, 2022.

The HealthierHere Governing Board will conduct an open search for the next Chief Executive Officer. The Board has put together a Hiring Committee to lead the recruitment and hiring process and engaged Sally Carlson with Carlson Beck to assist with this work. Over the coming weeks and months, HealthierHere Governing Board members, staff, partners, and community members will have opportunities to inform the search for our next leader.

During the transition, the Governing Board has appointed Thuy Hua-Ly as the Interim CEO. Thuy is HealthierHere’s current Chief Financial Officer. She is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience, including at the Washington Health Care Authority where she reported to the HCA’s Director, led a staff of 230 and managed a biennial budget of $8 billion. The Board is grateful to Thuy for stepping into the interim role. Thuy and Susan are working together to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.

We wish to thank Susan for her visionary leadership, guiding HealthierHere through its formation, development, and implementation of many successful transformation efforts in the King County region. We will have time to say good-bye and appreciate all of Susan’s accomplishments in the coming weeks.
