What are you most looking forward to working with HealthierHere and our partners?
I am deeply passionate about helping people gain access to healthcare and resources, especially through collaboration and thoughtful continuation of care across providers. I believe that with something like the Community Hub, those seeking resources/treatment will have a more streamlined experience getting access to resources and will be connected with a care coordinator that will help them do so. Through the work being done at HealthierHere, I am looking forward to collaborating with other agencies, local communities, and fellow staff to improve health outcomes in King County and the accessibility of resources to community members.
What drives your passion for this work?
My passion for this work comes from a deep desire to get to know people and love them well. With the combination being a social worker in a healthcare setting, growing up with a mom working in healthcare, and being enrolled in Medicaid until age 18, I have seen the many ways that the healthcare system historically hasn’t built to support people who need help the most. My hope is to continue to meet people where they’re at and do the best I can to support them with what they need. As a Referral Specialist for the Community Hub at HealthierHere, I hope to embody these values and continue working towards a more equitable and accessible healthcare system here in King County.
What is something about you that others might not know about you?
I love to travel. There is something so special about seeing the world and learning about life through different cultural lenses while both valuing and honoring the culture of every person I meet and place I go. I also love to play sports. My favorite sports are softball and volleyball, but I will always be down for any sort of pick-up game.
