What are you most looking forward to working with HealthierHere and our partners?

I am most looking forward to working closely with our partners and the HealthierHere team to bring the best care and support to our community. I am excited to learn more about what our partners have to offer and am looking forward to collaborating closely with them to bring even more trainings/programs that help develop the workforce and the community in a positive way.

What drives your passion for this work?

I believe my passion for this work is my family. I have a really big, dynamic, amazing family. I am Mexican/Japanese/German/Irish (so lots of different kinds of people and experiences are in the mix)! My family’s various experiences and values that have been instilled in me since I was young have been one of my greatest motivators in life. I also am the oldest sibling of 6 and I think that being an older sister to so many formed my passion for caring for others and providing mentorship.

What is something about you that others might not know? 

Something about me that others might not know is that I am a vegetarian that strongly dislikes vegetables. I know it doesn’t make sense! But I really love cooking and being creative in the kitchen. I have been following a vegetarian (sometimes pescatarian) diet going on 17 years now, so I have found some creative ways to sneak veggies into my meals.
