Hanna Kim (she/her) has joined HealthierHere as our new Community Network Manager! Learn more about Hanna in her welcome interview below: 

What are you most looking forward to working with HealthierHere and our partners?

I’m looking forward to learning more about how to improve health equity at a scale not just for the short term but creating a sustainable solution for the future generations to come. I am also looking forward to working with HealthierHere in partnership with the local community to find ways to improve whole person health through innovative solutions, while identifying and addressing any barriers the community may have to accessing the resources they need.

What drives your passion for this work?

I’m a 1.5 immigrant and have worn many hats for my parents during our life in America. While immigrating has brought us lots of opportunities, we were also faced with many challenges and difficulties with lack of resources. Looking back, there were lots of resources out there, but my parents simply didn’t even know they existed and didn't know how to access them. Addressing health inequity involves working within the community with community member input.

What is something about you that others might not know? 

I love learning about other cultures through food and history. Getting to enjoy the food is a bonus, but both food and history can teach you a lot about that culture's story and its people.
