Netse Mot: One Heart, One Mind
Netse Mot is an inclusive gathering where people from all backgrounds can engage with and learn from Indigenous voices. Netse Mot – a Coast Salish phrase meaning “One Heart, One Mind” – emphasizes solidarity among all individuals. This event is more than just a celebration; it’s a movement toward healing, unity and mutual understanding. The first Netse Mot, held in October 2024, welcomed 2,000 people in person with thousands more watching live online. This year’s Netse Mot coincides with The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) Fall Convening and is part of their official agenda. As this is NCAI’s first convention in the Pacific Northwest in over 40 years, we are even more excited about the opportunity to share Netse Mot with Tribes from around the country. As we welcome our relatives to our homelands, we see this as an important opportunity to showcase Coast Salish culture and center our unique challenges to our local Native audience, non-Native supporters and NCAI guests. In addition to featuring Coast Salish talent, the show will include a variety of gifted Native artists. English & Indigenous languages

An Evening with Ramona Bennett Bill
Ramona Bennett Bill shares her new memoir, “Fighting for the Puyallup Tribe.” This event celebrates Native American Indian Heritage month by highlighting one of the most prominent activists for Native American Indigenous rights in Washington state history. Ramona was instrumental in organizing the Puyallup Tribe, the fishing rights, reclaiming Ft. Lawton, the federal Indian Child Welfare Act and more. Her story provides a comprehensive account of some of these landmark achievements for the rights of Native people. Ramona understands and shares her view that people of all identities and backgrounds deserve to be treated with dignity, and that by coming together for common goals we can accomplish more than if we stand alone in our separate communities.
